Summary: Traumatic upper extremity amputations amenable to replantation pose a unique challenge to vascular surgeons and require a multidisciplinary effort to temporize and/or perfuse the severed limb while preparing the patient for replantation. The goal for the patient is a functional extremity. This case series encompasses one institution's approach to upper extremity limb replantation, including using an ECMO circuit to perfuse the severed limb and the overall concepts in our successful limb replantation program.
