Dr. Sukgu Han holds the titles of Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery, and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Han serves as a Co-director of the USC Comprehensive Aortic Center at Keck Hospital of University of Southern California. He also serves as the Program Director for the Vascular Surgery Residency Fellowship.
Dr. Han completed his undergraduate education and medical school at the University of California, Irvine. He completed general surgery training at University of Southern California. During residency, he also obtained a master's degree in biomedical engineering at the Viterbi School of Engineering at USC. Dr. Han went on to complete vascular surgery fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Han obtained additional dedicated training in complex aortic repairs at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Since joining USC as faculty in 2014, Dr. Han has been instrumental in advancing the Aortic Center at Keck Hospital of USC as one of the most robust programs in the country for care of patients with aortic emergencies and complex aortic pathologies. Dr. Han also serves as a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials on cutting-edge branched, fenestrated endovascular aortic stent grafts, including a prospective trial on physician-modified fenestrated branched endografts, through a Physician-Sponsored Investigational Device Exemption (PS-IDE). Dr. Han is a frequent invited lecturer on complex aortic repairs at both national and international meetings. He maintains one of the busiest clinical practices at USC.
