Dr. Regan Williams is the Medical Director of Trauma and the Surgical Champion for the Children’s Surgical Verification program at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tn. She is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in the departments of Surgery and Pediatrics.
Dr. Williams is active in efforts to improve trauma care at a state and national level. She uses hospital data to help frame community violence as a public health crisis and engage the community to help. In 2019, she was a leader of the inaugural Community Violence Summit in Memphis and is the founder of Le Bonheur’s Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program. She is the chair of the trauma committee for American Pediatric Surgical Association and active in the ACS Committee on Trauma.
Dr. Regan Williams earned her medical degree and completed a general surgical residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. She has completed a Master's of Science degree in Epidemiology and her research efforts are focused on developing evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of pediatric trauma and surgical disease. She is board certified in general and pediatric surgery and has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles.
