Jayer Chung is an Associate Professor in the Michael E DeBakey Department of Surgery where he serves as the Associate Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy.. He also serves as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Baylor/ St Luke's Hospital, the main flagship quarternary referral hospital for Baylor College of Medicine. He is an American Board of Surgery Certified General and Vascular Surgeon. He received is medical education at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and performed his residency at the University of Colorado Health and Sciences Center in Aurora, CO. He then completed his fellowship training at Emory School of Medicine. He first attended at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, where he served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and as the Co-Director of the University of Texas Southwestern Wound Center. His clinical interests include diabetic limb salvage, lower extremity ischemia, lower extremity percutaneous interventions, lower extremity bypass, cerebrovascular insufficiency, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysmal disease, visceral artery aneurysmal disease, iliofemoral deep venous thrombosis, arterial and venous thoracic outlet syndrome, and aortic graft infections. He is a fellow of the American College of surgeons, and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, the Southern Association of Vascular Surgery, the Western Surgical Association, and the International Society of Endovascular Specialists. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Cases & Innovative Techniques.
