Professor Joh obtained his qualifications in medicine at The Chosun University, Korea in 1995. He received his training in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery at the Samsung Medical Center, Seoul Korea. In 2008 he was the Visiting Scholar at Stanford University Hospital, CA, USA and Strandness’s Vascular Laboratory of University of Washington, Seattle, USA. He took up the present position as Associate Professor of Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong in 2010 and Director of Education and Training Committee in his university hospital.
His main interests are carotid endarterectomy, open and endovascular treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and venous diseases including varicose vein and deep vein thrombosis. Professor Joh played a key role in the development of Vascular Ultrasound in Korea, having established The Korean Society for Vascular Ultrasound (KSVU). He has authored over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He published 3 books for vascular ultrasound.
