I am board certified in vascular surgery and have six years of expertise with a focus towards limb threatening ischemia as a high-volume practicing faculty surgeon. I am the author and Co-Director of a formal multidisciplinary University of Oklahoma (OU) Limb Preservation Program, the first in Tulsa. My research interests are in health services and outreach for multiple vascular surgery issues including limb salvage, disparities, and barriers to quality care. Because of tenacity and planning, as the PI, our OU NO-AMP-OK multi-disciplinary group received two independent grants for ongoing pilot projects awarded by the Society of Vascular Surgery Foundation and now received an OSCTR grant. Moving forward, this will allow for possible federal funding. In addition, I am the Program Director of the only Vascular Fellowship training site in the state and serve as a mentor to trainees of all levels and strive towards intentional and diverse recruitment in our field. As a surgeon educator, successful outreach research creates an environment to promote additional interest in vascular surgery and help the underserved.
