Mark G. Davies, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., M.H.P.E is a Professor of Surgery and Medical Director of the Center for Quality, Effectiveness and Outcomes in Cardiovascular Diseases (CV-QED). and Chair of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Ascension Providence Hospital Waco, Texas. He is board-certified in Vascular and General Surgery, Wound Care, Medical Infomratics and Medical Quality.
Dr. Davies is a Trinity College, Dublin graduate who obtained the FRCS (Ire) and FRCS (Eng) in 1991. He graduated from the Duke University Surgical Residency in 1997 and completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington in 1997. After training, he has worked as an academic surgical leader at the University of Rochester (NY), Houston Methodist (TX), and the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 2023, he joined the Ascension Medical Group and Providence Hospital in Waco, TX.
His clinical interests focus on managing complex aortic, carotid, and lower extremity disease, improving vascular access outcomes, and accelerating advanced wound care. He has held a K08 and NIH R01s and has collaborated on multiple NIH projects. He pioneered new endovascular and molecular therapies in vascular disease and has participated in multiple clinical devices and gene therapy trials. His clinical research interests are in vascular quality and outcomes. He has published 700 peer-reviewed papers and chapters and made over 1000 national and international presentations. He is a passionate advocate for developing the specialty of vascular surgery and mentoring Medical Students, Residents, Allied Professionals, and Attending staff.
