Saskia I. Willemsen, MD

Saskia was born on the 7th of August 1993 in Maastricht (the Netherlands). She attended the Porta Mosana College and obtained her bilingual atheneum diploma in 2011, after which she started as a medical student at Leiden University. During her medical studies, Saskia developed a keen interest in surgery. After obtaining her medical degree in 2018, Saskia started as a resident not in training at the surgical department at the Haga Teaching Hospital in the Hague. She now works as a PhD student at the department of Vascular Surgery at the Utrecht University Medical Center under supervision of prof. dr. G.J. de Borst and dr. C.E.V.B. Hazenberg. She is involved in several research projects, alongside being the coordinating investigator of the Carotid Aneurysm Registry.
