My name is Shuhei Miura and I am a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon by the Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Surgery. I trained surgical skills and the management at various institutions. My publications reflect my clinical and research interests in cardiovascular surgical techniques, heart transplantation, and endovascular aortic repair. From 2019 to 2021, I served as surgical research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA. There, I learned a lot about transplant immunology, and to be trained in the conduct of large animal heart transplant models, and mainly involved in the project of xeno-heart transplantation as a cardiac surgeon. My career goal is to develop a productive, independent academic surgery career in the broad field of cardiovascular surgery.
