Dr. Aulivola is Professor and Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Therapy and Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. She is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and completed general surgery training at Rush University Medical Center/Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at The Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Hospitals program in Boston. She holds multiple leadership roles regionally and nationally including Treasurer of the Midwest Vascular Surgical Society, Chair of the SVS Resident and Student Outreach Committee, and lead faculty of the Inaugural SVS Leadership Development Program. During 2019-20, she served as co-chair of the SVS Task force on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), advising society leadership on the institution of multiple changes aimed at addressing DEI issues including the institution of a standing DEI committee on which she currently serves. She is an Associate Editor of the 10th Edition of Rutherford's Vascular Surgery textbook and has authored multiple book chapters, invited reviews and peer-reviewed publications. She has served as as a Director of the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery since 2017 and was also appointed as a Councilor of the American Board of Surgery in 2022. Dr. Aulivola has a broad clinical practice in Vascular Surgery with particular areas of interest including peripheral artery disease, limb salvage and healthcare disparities.
