My early career research agenda focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence with design-thinking in vascular care. Specifically, I am exploring three specific lines of research:
1. Creation of a cloud-based platform to organize and analyze structured and unstructured data from the EHR, imaging systems, and wearables for clinical implementation and research data curation.
2. Development of “doctor in the middle” paradigms for healthcare AI implementation.
3. Development of best practices for identifying and addressing bias in healthcare AI algorithms.
My goal is not only to advance foundational research in vascular imaging, but also to develop a framework for innovation and implementation of AI in healthcare evolves with and is responsive to the rapid advancements in technology and the regulatory environment. I aim to leverage my formal education in law, medicine, public health, and health services research to generate impactful discoveries across the following fields: translational imaging science, vascular surgery, clinical informatics, implementation science, information technology/intellectual property law, and health policy. By doing so I hope to pioneer a new career pathway as a “full-stack” clinician-scientist.
