Suzanna Fitzpatrick, DNP, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, FAANP, is a clinical program maanger and nurse practitioner at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, where she has worked since 2008. She began her healthcare journey as a Paramedic which she has continued doing as a volunteer for the past 20 years. Her educational background includes a B.S. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (2004) in Emergency Health Services, a B.S.N from Villa Julie College (2008), Masters in Nursing in Acute Care (2010), a Post-Masters certificate from George Washington University in Family Practice (2013) and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (2020) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her doctoral work focused on teamwork and collaboration with emergency nurses. She was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2023.
She has written over 25 articles on teamwork. healthcare , leadership, and transition shock for novice practitioners. She is co-author of Innovative Leadership For Health Care, a workbook that provides healthcare workers with frameworks and tools based on the most current research in Leadership, psychology, neuroscience, and physiology to help them update or innovate how they lead and build the practices necessary to continue to update their leadership skills. In addition, she is an adjunct professor teaching doctoral nursing students since 2020. She is co-founder of the Healthcare Leadership Community of the International Leadership Association, serves on several editorial boards, and is on the board of directors for the Society of Vascular Nursing.
