Michael C. Dalsing, M.D. is Professor Emeritus at Indiana University School of Medicine. He attended The Medical College of Wisconsin obtaining his M.D. in 1978. General Surgery training was completed at Indiana University (1983) with Vascular Surgery fellowship at Northwestern University (1984). He is board certified in Vascular Surgery, General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
He joined the Indiana University faculty as an Assistant Professor in 1984 and became the first Director of Vascular Surgery in 1987 with its inception. He obtained AOA recognition in 1988. He rose through the ranks to become full professor in 1994. He initiated the IU Independent Vascular Surgery Training Program (2000) and Integrated Vascular Surgery Training Program (2008).
Dr. Dalsing’s distinguished career in academic surgery is exemplified in his roles as president of the Indiana Chapter, American College of Surgeons; the American Venous Forum; the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society; the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery and is immediate Past-President of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He completed an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2022.
He has given over 200 medical presentations throughout the world, published more than 160 peer-reviewed journal articles and written over 40 book chapters.
