Brian K. Edwards is chief of external communications for the American College of Surgeons with more than 30 years of experience in helping individuals and organizations communicate effectively. Brian has worked in the corporate, non-profit, and public sectors shaping communications strategies on everything from a multi-billion-dollar corporate merger to the routine communications challenges and crises that impact corporations and public agencies alike. Brian began his career as a journalist in Tampa, Florida before moving to Washington, DC to handle communications for a Member of Congress in the United States House of Representatives. Brian earned his Bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Maryland, College Park.
