With almost 25 years of nursing experience under my belt, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. My journey has been rich and diverse, spanning across various specialties and roles within the healthcare landscape.
After obtaining my BSN from Lewis University, I entered the hospital setting. My background is deeply rooted in surgery, cardiovascular and vascular care, and surgical quality. I have worked as an ICU nurse, navigating the complexities of critical care, and as a member of the surgical team in the operating room. My tenure as a surgical clinical team leader for the congenital heart team and later as the manager of peri-operative services equipped me with invaluable leadership skills, honed through years of managing and coordinating complex surgical workflows.
Throughout my time in the hospital, I've been deeply engaged in quality improvement endeavors. Serving on two surgical quality committees, actively participating in monthly Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) meetings and a member of the ERAS committee at two facilities.
I have worked as the clinical support manager for several national surgical quality programs, I had the privilege of shaping strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of surgical care on a national scale. Additionally, my involvement in determining appropriate quality measures for a national insurance program underscored my commitment to ensuring optimal patient outcomes beyond immediate care settings.
