Dr. Robert Shahverdyan is a board certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon from Yerevan, Armenia. After graduating from Yerevan State Medical University he moved to Cologne, Germany, where he received his Vascular Surgery training. In September 2017 he took over as Head of Vascular (Dialysis) Access Center at the Asklepios Clinic Barmbek in Hamburg, Germany, where he performs broad kind of open and endovascular Vascular Access procedures, including most of the available innovative devices and techniques for creating and preserving the Vascular Accesses. He was the first physician worldwide to adapt both endovascular AV-Fistula creation procedures, and has the most experience with those in Europe. Moreover, he has the most extensive experience with the anastomotic external support device for AV-Fistula creation. Dr. Shahverdyan has published several important peer-reviewed publications on Vascular Access, including those on both endovascular and surgical AV-fistulae. He is a member of Vascular Access Society of Americas (VASA), a council member of Vascular Access Society (VAS) and a member of the editorial board of Journal of Vascular Access (JVA)
