Ashley Flinn Patterson is a Captain and active duty physician in the United States Army Medical Corps and general surgery resident at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. She is in her second dedicated year of research in the Vascular Surgery Research Lab. Her current research utilizes hemorrhagic swine models to develop novel, minimally-invasive tools to temporize and treat non-compressible torso hemorrhage and improve upon existing technologies that can be used in tomorrow's forward surgical environments to save lives. She also has an interest in resident safety initiatives, particularly regarding occupational radiation exposure amongst trainees.
