Dr. Wayne Causey trained at the United States Military Academy at West Point and completed his medical school training at the Medical College of Georgia. Subsequent to this, he completed his general surgery training in Tacoma, Washington at Madigan Hospital. During his residency, he pursued a year of basic science research in pharmacologic therapy for the mitigation of injury following ischemia reperfusion injury as well as the pathophysiology of pathologic endothelial cell pathways under Drs. Matthew Martin, Niten Singh, and Jonathan Stallings. Upon completing his residency, he completed two years of clinical vascular surgery fellowship trianing at the University of California, San Francisco. He currently lives and works in San Antonio where he is a staff vascular surgeon at the San Antonio Military Medical Cente and during this time also served as a combat surgeon in southern Afghanistan.
